At The Thirsty Horse, we believe dining out should be enjoyable for the whole family — that’s why we’ve created The Kids Shed, a one-of-a-kind play space right here in the Hunter Valley.
Designed with both fun and safety in mind, the Kids Shed gives little ones a place to explore, imagine, and play while parents relax and enjoy their meal, coffee, or cocktail. It’s the perfect balance between family-friendly and adult-friendly — where everyone gets to unwind.
Inside, you’ll find two separate play areas to suit all ages and interests:
Little Explorers Room: Perfect for younger children, this space includes a TV with kids’ shows, books, puzzles, building blocks, a play kitchen, and soft play activities to keep curious minds busy.
Big Kids Arcade Room: Older children and teens will love this space, featuring classic arcade-style games and a spot to challenge their friends while the grown-ups enjoy a well-earned break.

Plenty of Space to Run & Play
Just outside the Shed, there’s a large open area where kids can stretch their legs, burn off energy, and make new friends. Parents can relax nearby with a coffee, milkshake, or slushy — knowing the kids are having a great time in a safe, friendly space.
